Day 272 - September 30, 2008
This is a picture of how the Church can expand to hold more people for tomorrow night's concert. The music department at work has about 6 huge concerts every year. They involve a whole orchestra and professional choir. I'm not going to tomorrow's concert, but I certainly want to see one in the future.

Day 271 - September 29, 2008
I went out to dinner with my friend, Natalie tonight, and it was really a lot of fun. We decided to go to this great 50s dinner and it was amazing. We had a wrap and tater tots followed by this amazing S'mores sundae which tasted just as good as it looks. I thought the whip cream alone made it worth being the picture of the day. Umm, way to finish a Monday.

Day 270 - September 28, 2008
I am a bit of a movie junky and knowing this my parents bought me this book as one of my college graduation presents. I was really obsessed with watching the movies when I first got the book and when I first signed up for Netflix. Now I am trying to watch about one a week, either through Netflix or making use of my DVR. Tonight I watched the Usual Suspects, which stars the always creepy Kevin Spacey. It was pretty good and really reminded me of Primal Fear.

Day 269 - September 27, 2008
I went out with all of the Northwestern people to watch NU play football in the morning. Northwestern is 5-0 which I may never hear the end of! Anyway, when you get going that early on a Saturday you need to take a break. When we arrived back at Will and Jay's apartment we found Will sitting there locked out. Unfortunately this was the most interesting picture I took!
Wisconsin did not win yesterday unfortunately, and I didn't get any sympathy for that at all.

Day 268 - September 26, 2008
I went to watch the debates with Carol and some of her friends at a Drinking Liberally event at a firehouse. However, it was extremely hot and packed there so we decided on a change of venue. We didn't know if they would show the debate anywhere else, so we ended up at my place. So here is a picture right after the debate with my drinking liberally button and Rudy Giuliani speaking about the debate, because Sarah Palin declined. Anyway, I thought the debate was interesting, but I didn't learn too much. I felt like they basically just spoke to the base, so we'll see if anything has changed. Also there were a couple questions that simply weren't answered.

Day 267 - September 25, 2008
I had been wanting to see this movie for a long time, because I think that everyone who is in it, is really a great actor. I knew that it would be depressing, but I did not imagine that it would be as depressing as it actually was. It was really a very captivating portrayal of grief. If you aren't already in a downer mood than you would probably really enjoy it as well.

Niina, a great friend of Rohin's invited me to her reading tonight at Cafe Vivaldi in the West Village. This is another fantastic shot for this blog and this one simply shows the sign of this amazing cafe. I have a great admiration for how talented all of the people I've met from Sara Lawerance are, and tonight I got to enjoy a poetry reading from three of them. I've always enjoyed people reading to me, and when it is something that they wrote and is so obviously a part of them, it is even greater. So all in all tonight was a lot of fun, and you should go to Cafe Vivaldi, because it might not be around much longer and it is certainly worth checking out.

Day 264 - September 22, 2008
Is it Monday yet? I think this may be the greatest tag line ever written, and I'm all for it. I told Katie she should take my picture today, since I always take hers. So here I am no flash needed, having a beer and watching some football. I even made a new friend, who is an Eagles fan. Oh football, it makes a bad day good. Even Katie who was reluctant to believe said it did appear as though the fans on TV were having a great time.

Day 263 - September 21, 2008
Well, my football knowledge definitely didn't do me any good today. I told Jeet that the Patriots were the safest bet on who would win this week. That turned out not to be true. Man I wish that Ronnie Brown was on my fantasy team, who even knew the Dolphins could win againist anyone. Oh well, now I just hope the Packers win tonight and all will be okay in the football world. Amazing that the NFC can look way better in just one year and a couple of injuries.

Here is a boring picture, but it was the most exciting thing that happened to me on Thursday. We had these new front doors put on the Parish House but there was a small space between them. So today, they installed this strip that solved the problem! The door looks much better than before.

Day 259 - September 17, 2008
I met up with Angela after a long day of work today. She has gotten a car, now that she has a tricky public transportation commute to work. I think this picture is amazing too. It is weird saying goodbye to someone in front of a car, so flashback to High School for me. I think we really pissed off someone looking for a spot too, oops! Anyway, it is a cute car and it seems to be working out great for her.

Day 258 - September 16, 2008
Well, obviously it is September, and the picture quality is lacking during the week at least. Anyway, here is the attempt to show what I did tonight. I went to a free screening of the movie Express. You should absolutely go see it, it will probably make you cry and have a new favorite football player of all time. Ernie Davis kicks ass! The interviewed Jim Brown on ESPN on Saturday during the Syracuse/Penn State game also, and he is pretty awesome as well. It is worth it though, really inspirational and just an overall good movie. So since I can't exactly take a picture of that I took a picture of this instead. It is just a mural in the movie theater, but it is of a guy putting up a sign for Coming Attractions, and I love that part of the movies!

Tammy and Eric are some great people that I go to Church with. They have this great backyard and love to throw bbqs. This is one shot from the end of yesterday's party. I had an amazing time, ate the best food and got to hang out with everyone. The only drawback is that I have some mosquito bits now. Itchy, itchy.

Day 253 - September 11, 2008
It is hard to know exactly how to feel on September 11th especially living in New York. I thought about putting one of the pictures from the Times from today up, but I decided to do something pointless instead. I can't remember the trees turning colors and being all wonderful and golden last fall. So I am going to try to catch them this year. As you can see from this picture they are still very full and green at the moment!

My family has been convinced, mainly by me that Macs are the way to go. However, they all have newer versions than I do with the built in Isight cameras. So they have all been talking to each other on Ichat. I ordered a camera and now I can be connected to them as well. Here are my parents talking to me on my new web cam.

Aaron, Aaron, he's our man. If he can't do it no one can. It is a nice night to be a Cheese Head! The Pack looks ever bit as good as last season! The Badgers are ranked in the top 10! Oh football season, how I love you!!!! Enjoy the Lambeau Leap, the only way it could be better is if I were sitting in the box on the 50-yard line with my friend, Janelle!

Day 248 - September 6, 2008
This picture is from the HBO show The Wire. I was told that I would love this show from one of my friends and they were absolutely right. I am just about to finish the 4th season and I thought I'd mention the show. It is about the inter workings of Baltimore. It manly concentrates on the "War on Drugs" and the reasons that it hasn't been very effective. Each season concentrates on a different area of city life and the fourth season is about schools and education. I think the show is incredibly real, and even though it is telling the most extreme stories it is still fascinating to see a story from every point of view. I would certainly recommend it.

I went to see my friend Brian play at a bar/coffee shop tonight after work. I have known Brian since High School, because we were in the same Youth Group at Church. He has been living in the city for a long time now, but we had never met up. So it was nice to see him and his band and get a chance to catch up some. The lead singer of the band is Noah http://www.myspace.com/noahlekas and this gig was something that happens at Think Coffee the first Friday of every month.

Day 246 - September 4, 2008
So if you have read my blog this year you know that I am an Obama fan by far. However, I definitely watched McCain's speech last night. I like John McCain, I think that he legitimately adores America and is fiercely loyal to our country. I also really liked that he said that he thinks everyone should do something to serve America either in the military or through teaching or running for public office. I absolutely agree with this and think that the we would all benefit from an initiative like this. However, the rest of his policies didn't sound great to me. I can't believe that he said we should stop foreign funding to countries "who don't like us very much." What kind of foreign policy initiative is that? I also did not agree with what he had to say about schools, it sounded a lot like privatization to me and that will leave a lot of people out in the cold. There are 60 days until the election and it should be exciting.

Here is a view from the top of Central Park. Now that I work in Manhattan, I spend a lot more time in Central Park and actually know where things are. So it is pretty cool to take the look from above and see all the park. It was really cool to see the people sitting on the lawn where we had just been.

I can't believe it is September or that the picture a day year is already more than half over! Anyway, how is this view of the Empire State Building. Here it is from the Top of the Rock. I had a great final day in New York with Robin and Dave. We ate a lot of amazing food and saw some great New York things. It was fabulous to have them here.
