Day 302 - October 31, 2008

This is exactly why I didn't want to dress up for Halloween! On the Today Show this year they all dressed up as fairy tale characters. Matt Lauer dressed up like Humpty Dumpty. Yikes.

Day 301 - October 30, 2008

I know what you are thinking, why would I take a picture of this? I just thought it was funny because I can't remember ever finishing a tube of toothpaste before. For the last 6 years, I haven't lived in the same place for long enough to finish a tube of toothpaste, so they've just gotten lost along the way. Anyway, I'm gonna finish a tube of toothpaste this week!

Day 300 - October 29, 2008

This picture is really dorky, but I was playing with the camera on my iphone, and honestly there are dog walkers everywhere around here at lunch time. Also I've been reading the book, The Story of Edgar Sawtelle, for book club so I am really into dogs at the moment. For the first time I've thought that it would be awesome to have a dog, especially a Sawtelle dog!

October 28, 2008

Day 299 - October 28, 2008

Katie and I hadn't hung out for awhile so we decided to get dinner last night. We went to Rachel's which is becoming one of our favorite places, I love their veggie burrito. The walls at this place are completely covered with pictures, which I think is really cool. It is basically a collage, yeah crafty things.

October 27, 2008

Day 298 - October 27, 2008

Kumi and I ate Indian food for lunch, and I just have to say, the decor in this place is something else. There are paintings and beads and rugs everywhere as you can see for yourself. Also the chana shag is my new favorite Indian food, umm!

October 26, 2008

Day 297 - October 26, 2008

Today was Confirmation at my Church and there were 7 kids confirmed which is many more than the last two years. One of the kids had not been baptised as a baby so he was baptised today and the other confirmans were his sponsors so that was a touching moment of the service.

October 25, 2008

Day 296 - October 25, 2008

How many things can one bar be celebrating? Well apparently this one supports the Giants, Jets and Halloween. Now that is my kind of bar. I love these little blowup football men they are so great! Oh and by the way Wisconsin finally won a Big Ten football game, we beat Illinois.

October 24, 2008

Day 295 - October 24, 2008

My phone died this week. I think that it had just been dropped, opened and used one to many times, so it was time to get a new one. I have AT&T so I decided on an iphone. I've been a huge fan of Macs ever since I got my computer, and the iphone continues to impress. It really has everything you need and it syncs everything together which is awesome. I really like that it has GPS too, cause now I won't be lost without a hope ever again, I know that will make my sister Nicki pretty happy.

October 23, 2008

Day 294 - October 23, 2008

Here is one last picture of the weekend. After the game they took down the goal posts immediately and then they didn't care that people were out on the field. So here is me and Nicki after the Badgers took a beating. Maybe Wisconsin will finally win one this weekend!

October 22, 2008

Day 293 - October 22, 2008

This picture is of the foliage in Wisconsin, from last week. I think the Midwest is so gorgeous in the fall. It is really beautiful and while in the car the last two weekends, I definitely snapped some pictures to capture it.

October 21, 2008

Day 292 - October 21, 2008

This is Megan, she is a night receptionist at work and I think she is really cute. It is always fun talking to her, and she has certainly done some cute things to cheer me up when I'm having a rough day at work. She is a pretty good artist too and tonight she was drawing some sketches to go with a children's book that someone else was writing.

October 20, 2008

Day 291 - October 20, 2008

This is the old Capitol Building from when Iowa City was the capital of Iowa. I have a life goal to go to all of the capital cities in the US and so this was pretty cool to see as well. I think my love of capitals comes from my time in Madison and how wonderful and awesome Capitol Loop is in Madison. I have also been to the real capital of Iowa, Des Moines and the current Capitol Building is this awesome gold building.

October 19, 2008

Day 290 - October 19, 2008

Here is my family in front of Perkins this morning. Nicki and I went to meet up with Mom, Dad, Chelsea, Grandpa and Grandma to get some breakfast this morning. Chelsea was in charge of her Homecoming events this weekend and Mom and Dad came to check that out. Also there was an Eldridge reunion this afternoon, so everyone else headed in that direction after Mom and Dad dropped me off at the airport.

October 18, 2008

Day 289 - October 18, 2008

So Nicki and I made it to the game and ended up having pretty good seats too. In the morning she asked if she could put a tiger hawk on my cheek and so I said that was ok. I got some crap for being a supporter of both teams, not that I actually am, but whatever. Oh and when Iowa scores a touchdown, which unfortunately happened a lot on Saturday they have flags in all four corners of the end zone and the crowd spells I-O-W-A. This is Nicki doing W.

October 17, 2008

Day 288 - October 17, 2008

So I didn't take this picture on Friday, but it sums up the day. I went to visit my little sister in Iowa City this weekend, and there were certainly a few mishaps along the way. My plane sat on the runway for so long at LaGuardia that we needed to refuel, which meant that I missed my flight at O'hare. So I ended up renting a car and driving to Iowa City. All of this was really tiring, but returning the car was even more exhausting! Brother!

October 16, 2008

Day 287 - October 16, 2008

I had an amazing dinner with my friend, Angela. Then we went to their new neighborhood bar, Sycamore. It was a really cute place with some unique bars on tap and a great decor. They even had a bottle of Pimm's which if you've been paying attention is the official drink of Wimbledon.

October 15, 2008

Day 286 - October 15, 2008

Well I don't know about Joe the Plumber, but Jeet, Rohin and I were not impressed with all of the bickering. Frankly I love politics and I am really sick of this election, so I can't imagine what it was like for everyone else! I do have to say though that Joe the Plumber is much more articulate than Sara Palin!

October 14, 2008

Day 285 - October 14, 2008

I thought the add on this bus was hilarious. Bolt as you all remember is the Jamaican Olympian that won the 100m in 9.69 seconds. The buses certainly do not do that, funny! Maybe New Yorkers can hire Bolt to take them from place to place, like one of those bikes for hire.

October 13, 2008

Day 284 - October 13, 2008

Well fall is certainly in the air in Wisconsin, and you could see it in my parents front yard as well. Here is a picture of me and mom under our neighbors tree, which is beautiful red, orange and yellow.

October 12, 2008

Day 283 - October 12, 2008

Lindsay and I decided we needed to go to Amy's Cafe in Madison because it is one of my favorite places. It was too packed before the game, so we went on Sunday morning before we left. Nicki's best friend, Kaitlin meet Mike, Lindsay and me and I got the cheese curds I had been long awaiting! Umm!

October 11, 2008

Day 283 - October 11, 2008

A great day in Madison! The game was pretty horrible but the rest of the day was AMAZING! We had lunch at Mediterranean Cafe, then drank beer down at the Union and then headed to a tailgate. This is me, Lindsay and Kate at the tailgate before heading to the game. There is a picture of the game below as well.

October 10, 2008

Day 282 - October 10, 2008

I had an amazing weekend away in Wisconsin. I thought that this first picture kinda tells the story of this transition weekend. It is in Lindsay's apartment and the pumpkin is adorning the Brewer's hat that won't be needed again until next season.

October 9, 2008

Day 281 - October 9, 2008

It was a really beautiful Thursday, so Omyra and I went for a walk in Central Park over lunch to enjoy the amazing weather.

October 8, 2008

Day 280 - October 8, 2008

Oh the life of the worker bee. This isn't exactly something that made me happy today, but I did get a lot of work done today! I'm really looking forward to this weekend, when I get to go to Wisconsin. GO BADGERS!

October 7, 2008

Day 279 - October 7, 2008

I went to lunch with Omyara today and when we were walking back to work, we saw this great brownstone all decked out for Halloween. I LOVE seasonal decorations and I thought this house was pretty cool. Halloween will be here before you know it!

October 6, 2008

Day 278 - October 6, 2008

So they have made my gym a little bigger, and at first I thought it was crazy, because now all these machines are at street level and that is a little intimidating. However, they put amazing brand new machines down there and they are amazing.

October 5, 2008

Day 277 - October 5, 2008

I didn't watch the Brewers game, but apparently this was a really big play to keep the Brewers alive on Saturday night. Nicki tells me that this even cost the Phillies a score. Frankly though, I am just sad for the Brewers that they lost today, because being in the playoffs was exciting even if I didn't watch them! It was a pretty bad weekend for Wisconsin football as well. Boo!

October 4, 2008

Day 276 - October 4, 2008

It was Abby's birthday tonight, so I joined Kumi and the rest of Abby's friends for Japanese food. We tried a whole bunch of things which were wonderful. It was great to catch up with some people I've meet before and meet a couple of new people too.

October 3, 2008

Day 275 - October 3, 2008

There was the big back to school dance for the Grammar School last night and they honored my boss, so I decided to stay and check it out. All week it was described to me as being really loud and you can see why! There were 600 people there and a dj that was very loud, but it was fun to check out.

October 2, 2008

Day 274 - October 2, 2008

I think all eyes were on the VP debate tonight. Mostly, because Sarah Palin has not been very impressive in the last week. She did pretty well tonight, mostly because while everyone else has to defend a record, she doesn't have one. As she said herself she has only been at this for 5 weeks! Mrs. B was pretty into the debates as well, I think that Senator Biden would let her call him Joe.

October 1, 2008

Day 273 - October 1, 2008

I've been looking forward to going to a new book club for the last couple of weeks, and it finally happened last night. We read the book I Was Told There Would Be Cake. It was a really fun New York book about being in your 20s and early 30s. So it was a pretty great book to discuss with a new group of people. I tried to take a variety of pictures, as did Kumi and Justin, and this is the one I like the most. If you've never meet up with a group of strangers for a discussion of some kind, I would recommend it.
