2010 - Day 299
There was a really amazing Halloween parade today. My favorite costume was the little kid dressed as a Wisconsin player. You really can't beat that.

2010 - Day 297
Finally a day with no plans!! I came home order Chinese takeout and watched tv. Then my roommate came home and we caught up for awhile. We decided we needed something a little sweet, fortunately I had m&ms that I bought at the airport last weekend. They were "sharing size" good thing I had someone to share with.

2010 - Day 294
There is no reason to worry about the corn crop in Iowa this year. Grandpa had saved us a huge piece of corn to see. Here is Amber trying to hold it up. We had a fantastic dinner that Grandma had prepared for us. Then there was just enough time to hold the corn and pet the sheep before we had to hit the road again. It was really hard to pick pictures for the last few days so don't be surprised if you see a few more later this week.

2010 - Day 293
Team Holtz rocks at tailgating. Even with the addition of Larry and Jared our adopted Holtzs we dominated at flip cup. Larry and Amber got to the parking lot at 6:30 AM to reserve our spot. The rest of us arrived at 8 AM for a full day of tailgating. The game turned out AMAZING as long as you ask a Badger, we won by 1. It was a fantastic day with my fantastic cousins.

2010 - Day 291
So my fall kickball team, Saved by the Balls is suddenly 2-1. It is nice to win, but regardless we all have a really great time and that is what really matters. We even have team snack and this week Karen made some killer peanut butter brownies. It is going to be touch to beat that next week.

2010 - Day 290
Oops this picture is not good. It is a picture of the fruit punch that Akeli bought at the movie theater. We went to see the Social Network. I'm not sure that I agree that it is the best movie ever. However, I did really enjoy it, because it is certainly a very compelling story. No one is ever going to make a movie about my life, but if they do I hope they remember me as being a little kinder than Zuckerburg is portrayed, yikes!

2010 - Day 289
Back to New York and back to reality at least until I head to Iowa City on Friday. I signed up to do a program through New York Cares where we provide free SAT tutoring using the Kaplan method. This was our first week with students, and I'm extremely excited to work with the three kids that I have for the year. It should be a lot of fun, and a little more work than I anticipated.

2010 - Day 287
I LOVE Wisconsin. Especially when it means eating a brat and watching football with Dana on a Sunday afternoon. After we finished watching the Pack lose again in overtime we headed to the Union. It was a little too cold for beer outdoors though so we moved it into the Rathskeller and watched more football.

2010 - Day 286
In one word - Amazing. Quite frankly after all the possibilities of how Dad and I could and did lose our tickets, the fact that we walked into the stadium with them is a miracle. Then the Badgers scored a touchdown on the opening kickoff and the rest is history. I love that you can't even see the field in this picture. Go Badgers!

2010 - Day 285
Friday I got home from work and chilled with my roommate before we went to bed about 9:15 PM. All this because I was getting up at 4 AM to head to Wisconsin for an amazing weekend. So the cheese curds aren't from Friday, technically, but they were delicious. We got them at the Old Fashion which is an amazing Madison eatery.

For this month's book club we read Death of an Adversary. It was an interesting book, but none of us really enjoyed it. Unfortunately there just wasn't very much to discuss in the book as well. We still had a nice time though. Here is Katie and Jason as we tried to answer trivia questions at Banshee after book club.

2010 - Day 273
Today was the last day of the baseball season for those teams not going to the playoffs. The Mets are one of those teams, so a friend of mine got some free tickets and invited me to come. Here we are at the train station, during the bottom of the 12th, when we decided we couldn't take it anymore. I love Citi Field though, it is a really excellent stadium. We even entered through the VIP entrance which was pretty fun.
